Main Machine Water Corrosion Scale Control

CK CWT EXTRA is a water treatment chemical used to control scale and corrosion in main units and closed-loop heating and cooling systems. It disrupts the crystal structure of minerals that cause scaling, transforming them into an amorphous state, and facilitates their removal through blowdown. It reacts with dissolved oxygen to eliminate it, thereby preventing oxygen-induced corrosion.

CK CWT EXTRA is dosed into the expansion tank. The dosage amount is determined by monitoring the nitrite level in the water. The ideal nitrite concentration in the main machine water is 1,000–2,000 ppm. Adding 1 kg of CK CWT EXTRA per metric ton of water will increase the nitrite reserve in the system by 150 ppm.

Recommended Values for Main Tank Water:
Chloride: max. 50 ppm
pH : 8.2 – 10
Nitrite : 1000 – 2000 ppm

If the water parameters in your system are not within the recommended range, you should perform a partial blowdown and add CK CWT EXTRA to the system to bring the parameters within the recommended range.
