MUD & SILT REMOVER is a ballast water additive. It is an organic polyelectrolyte. It neutralizes the adhesion potential of mud, dust, and silt in the water. By keeping these substances suspended, it ensures they are easily removed from the tank during ballast discharge. It prevents mud, dust, and silt from forming a hard deposit on the surface of the ballast tank. The adhesion of sediments such as mud, dust, and silt to the ballast tank surface also affects the reproduction of biological organisms, increasing the risk of these organisms being transported to different ecosystems and causing harm. For this reason, the BWM (Ballast Water Management Convention) recommends keeping the ballast tank surface free of sediments.

Directions for Use:

MUD & SILT REMOVER should be dosed into the ballast tank in small amounts at short intervals.

To remove heavy deposits, add 15 kg of MUD & SILT REMOVER to 100 metric tons of ballast water and let it sit for 24 hours. After 24 hours, the ballast tank must be drained in accordance with local authority instructions. For regular use, add 3 kg of MUD & SILT REMOVER to 100 metric tons of ballast water. During application, protective gloves and a mask must be worn, and the area must be well-ventilated.
